Menegotti Winery in Villafranca

Winery history

For over fifty years, the Menegotti family has passionately cultivated the art of wine, handing down experiences and values from generation to generation.

From grandfather Antonio, who tended to the vineyards in the 1950s, to the creation of the Menegotti brand in 1972 with its first Custoza and Bardolino DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) wines.

Over time, the company has established itself as a reference for Classic Method sparkling wines in the province of Verona, and especially the exquisite white wine vinification of the Corvina variety of grapes.

A result of over forty years of experience.
Every wine, whether white, red or sparkling, expresses a refined balance of elegance, harmony and authencity.

VINEYARDS

Where the beauty of the Landscape nurtures the quality of the wine

The attractive area where Lake Garda meets the morainic hills is home to the Menegotti vineyards. This is a warm, welcoming area rich in culture and history, a land of vibrant shades of colour.

Its unique habitat and climate create the ideal environment to elevate each vine to an expression of its maximum value. Sheltered to the north by the Alps and influenced by the gentle Mediterranean breeze that blows across Lake Garda, the vineyards on Monte Mamaor enjoy a superb position, mainly facing south.

To ensure a more careful selection of the grapes and a top-quality yield, here at Cantina Menegotti harvesting is still carried out exclusively by hand, on Guyot and Spurred Cordon training systems, with a vine density ranging between 4,500 and 5,500 vines per hectare.
